The SETTLEMENT ACCOUNT INTERFACE of Direct Transact performs all aspects of inter-bank or inter-account settlement for retail merchants, Electronic Funds Transfers and ATM transactions. The Saint system has the functionality of a banking engine, focusing on settlement and not on banking products. A multiple tier account approach provides the ability to have an account for a group of merchants to which a number of sub-accounts can be linked for each individual merchant within that group. Account statements are available to provide an accurate record of all settlement transactions with balance checking where applicable.

This is a unique concept in the sense that the system interacts with a settlement product hosted by a Bank with the added benefit of an interface into any general ledger system that the Bank may be using. An interest and fee calculation module is available if required. The system has the ability to warehouse recurring EFT instructions with a function to calculate "next due dates" for future processing.

SAINT is an automated system with little or no human intervention. A SQL database ensures that data can easily be retrieved for reporting or dispute resolution purposes.
